Challenge

Industrial buyers in the US and Europe have ordered thermal spray powders and spare parts on myMetco since 2020. Oerlikon Metco is moving the store to Salesforce B2B Commerce so it loads faster and is easier to extend. Buyers keep everything they rely on, from live prices and availability to order tracking, and the new storefront has to get that data from SAP, where orders, invoices and shipments live.

What I did

  1. 01Built the buying flow in Lightning Web Components: product page, cart, checkout, order history, My Account and self-registration.
  2. 02Built SAP-to-Salesforce order tracking: line shipping and invoice status and shipment tracking through Composite Graph API upserts, with Apex unit tests.
  3. 03Automated buyer onboarding (buyer groups, billing addresses from SAP) and added reCAPTCHA to self-registration.

Result

The new store goes live at the end of October 2026, in six languages.
